Do Balthazar unlocks work with Elite skill tomes?
Was wondering whether it is possible to teach an elite skill that you haven't had any character unlock yet to a PVE character by using Balthazar faction to unlock it and then using an Elite Skill Tome to learn it.
PS. Tried to use the forum search to see if this was already discussed, but I always get a 'you do not have permission to access this page' for the search results page. It doesn't seem to matter whether I'm logged in or not - makes it hard to use the forums |

That is basically the only way to unlock them. Unless you use a skill cap to cap the skill (thus defeating the purpose of the elite skill tome).

If any character uses a skill trainer to purchase... Oh, let's say Healing Breeze... Then that skill is "unlocked".
Any PvP players may use it, Your heroes can use it, Any PvE players MAY NOT use it (they have to buy it themselves. These skills will be marked "unlocked" in the Skill Trainer's list, as opposed to "Known") I guess I am telling you all this to explain how it applies to any situation, but the answer to your specific one is: YES. Using Balthazar faction to unlock a skill makes that skill "unlocked" by definition of the Tome. (Obviously, you will need an Elite Tome for Elite Skills.) HINT: Capping skills also unlocks them, so you can teach one of your characters a (elite) skill capped by another. Last edited by Avalon4000; Jun 01, 2007 at 03:54 AM // 03:54.. |

I started a thread a few weeks ago about how to get around capping using this method, and also unlocking skills with hero points, which had equal parts flaming/bashing and constructive ideas/information
there are a few ways to obtains skills other than capping or paying a trainer 1k |
